Gudvangen, Nærøyfjord

The little town of Gudvangen will either be your first taste of the Norwegian fjords, or your last glimpse – depending on what direction you are taking the Norway in a Nutshell tour in. Continue reading Gudvangen, Nærøyfjord

The brightly yellow painted building of the Flåmsbana railway museum is hard to miss, situated right beside the Flamsbana train platform in the centre of Flåm. Entrance is free and the building itself is pretty small, so you can easily get around all the exhibits in about half an hour and still have plenty of time to take a picture beside one of the Flamsbana rail cars which is parked outside beside the museum. The number of visitors has surely risen over the past few years, as both the Nærøyfjord and Geirangerfjord made the UNESCO world heritage list in 2007, driving more tourism to the area than ever before.
